The first step to action is always knowledge. Learn the in’s and out’s of the issue by reading our resources and NK news feed, attending screenings, or signing up for our monthly newsletter.

Here are some other ways you can learn more:

North Korea Class

Ask your dean, or Political Science or East Asian Studies departments to create a class on North Korea, with particular attention to human rights. They may be more responsive with a professor’s support. Many universities are also home to professors who are already involved with the issue, and some administrations even allow student-led courses to count toward a major. If you go the latter route, create a syllabus including any of the resources here. You’ll not only teach others about the issue but refine your knowledge as well.

If you’re a high school, middle school or elementary student, ask your history/social studies teacher and school principal if one day can be devoted to learning about the North Korea crisis. You can watch documentaries or read reports and books and discuss what you just learned.
