Workshop Volunteer
Spearhead workshops on U.S. citizenship and culture, career and vocational counseling, job training, financial management, computer skills, ESOL, arts and crafts, yoga, origami, etc.

Practitioners/Professional Volunteers (*high need)
Ideal for medical or dental professionals, mental health providers, social workers, attorneys, etc. who are willing to volunteer their services and work with North Korean refugees. Provision of free or low-cost medical, dental and counseling/psychological services is a critical need area. LiNK will provide background training on the situation of North Korean refugees.

Interpretation Volunteers
Entails translating during workshops and classes, accompanying refugees to appointments, translating documents and facilitating communication between refugees and non-Korean/English speakers. Must be fluent in Korean.

Mentoring/Buddy Program Volunteer (1-year commitment)
Provide emotional support and friendship, individual tutoring and literacy support and/or organize sports and cultural outings. Examples of possible outings can include: one-day field trip to a theme park, going to the beach or zoo, neighborhood exploration and tours, hiking, community service events (e.g. neighborhood beautification) as well as reunions for refugees.

Transportation Volunteer
Provide airport pick-ups and rides to/from appointments and outings. Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.

Intern (minimum 3-month commitment)
Participate in an intensive 3-6 month Liberty House internship, which will entail living at Liberty House, overseeing the activities and functions of the house, providing case management and organizing fundraising activities.
